Hey @aaron24780! 👋
Could you please first ensure you’re using the latest version of the plugin (7.0.2) and a supported version of PHP? If that’s already the case, then when opening the settings page, check your browser’s developer tools (Console and Network tabs) to see if any error messages appear.
If nothing shows there or it seems related to a server issue, please check your PHP error log file and share the latest error message along with the full stack trace. That will help us investigate further. Thanks!
Hi there,
I have used your free plugin for a while, but have noticed recently in Pagespeed that Webp images are not automatically served, even though some are noted as created and existing. However, when I go to create them, the creation remains in pending position for a long while, or not processing at all. I am in latest PHP (8+) and latest wordpress. In a few cases, I had to manually enter the urls of the webP versions for logo or headers, so that they can be served. For example, if I choose a png logo or a jpg header, your plugin does not seem to serving WebP even though I have selected it, and Cloudflare is enabled to serve them, if site offers it. Also, perhaps unrelated, iIn settings where I select Lazy Loadinga and Autosizes, the Check Optimizers says “Your server does not allow exec. For more information, click here.” I have no idea what the referred page is supposed to offer me as a solution or explanation. In Modules, Use WEbP is selected green. I can see in Cpanel the WebP files are created, just not served when needed, so in PageSpeed I end up having notes such as “Using a modern image format (WebP, AVIF) or increasing the image compression could improve this image’s download size.” I am not even sure if the plugin is compressing, or serving compressed image files. PageSpeed results does not seem to be affected by whether your plugin is active or not (in fact, at times, it has higher score when inactive, but can’t be sure, since there are fluctuations in its evaluations). I’d appreciate if you can help me understand and solve this problem.
Just to add to my previous note, I cannot be absolutely sure the WebP versions are results of your plugin. I have been using WP-Optimize until recently, and it does created WebP versions of images, so those in my image folders could be creations of that plugin. But I have deactivated that plugin to test the results reported in my previous post.
