In phpMyAdmin, how does the table wp_users and column user_pass work?
If I change my wordpress password in wordpress admin dashboard, the user_pass in phpMyAdmin does not change. So… which password is really valid? And also, when I choose a password and save it in phpMyAdmin – the password CHANGES to a new generic password and not what I chose! Really confusing.

The password is stored as MD5 hash in the user_pass column that’s why it is not showing the exact value which you had entered in the password field.
