passing attributes to shortcode

Hi,

I’ve been using shortcode in dynamic fieldtypes and it works great, is it possible to pass an attribute? eg [my_shortcode type=”event”]

I think the answer is no, as I’ve been trying and it doesn’t work, but thought I’d ask in case I’m missing something.
