• This is a great plugin and as far as I can see the only one of its kind. The only issue I have so far is that I can’t change the order of the columns. Whatever I do they snap back into the place they were in once the “change” is saved. Is there something that I am missing? Some setting I should change? I can’t find anything on this.

  • 1CS,

Since I am not sure exactly which column order you’re talking about, I’ll give you the basic instructions.
The column order in both the admin list display and the list displayed with the shortcode is determined on the manage database fields page. There are two columns “admin” and “display” Those columns have the order information for the columns; “admin” is for the list in the admin and “display” is for the list as displayed on the website with a shortcode. A zero means don’t display the field, and a number determines the order. The problem you are experiencing my be that you’ve got two fields with the same number, when that happens, only one of them will display, so you need to be careful not to give the same number to more that one field.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi
My apologies because I have not been clear, I think. When I am in the Manage Database Fields screen, I understand you should be able to move fields around by clicking on the little icon with two arrows and dragging that field to the place you want it to display under the shrotcodes and in the admin area. If I do that, the field always snaps back to the place it was before. I thought this was how the order in which fields appeared under the two shortcodes were determined.

Even if I change the numbers as you suggested, the fields stay in exactly the same order they appear in the Manage Database Fields screen.

When I am on the Manage Database Screen the following errors are on reported in the left corner bottom “Not implemented” Line numbers 296,383,470,557,644,731. I am using IE 8 so maybe it is that but is it possible I have plugin conflict issues? This does not come up on any other screen. Any advice is much appreciated. I can use the database but getting the order right will make data entry so much easier.

OK, I think I have solved the issue. If I use Chrome I can make the changes by dragging and dropping without an issue. The issue is an IE 8 one. Thanks for the help. Much appreciated and this is a great plugin.

Further query, now that that one is solved. Is there any way to change the order on the Add Participants page? I have an order that doesn’t seem to relate to anything at all and I can’t see anyway to reset it.

    1CS,

Yes, I am not surprised about the IE8 issue…there are some incompatibilities with regard to IE8’s javascript implementation…glad you pointed it out to me so I can help other who may have similar issues.

Now, your next question I am surprised to hear because the “add participants” page should follow the field order you set up in the manage database fields page. If you’re referring to the order of the field groups, you can also set that on the manage database fields page…go to the field groups tab and you can set the order of the field groups the same way you set the order of the fields.

OK, the page seems to have resolved itself and now reflects the way it should. Maybe it just needed some time to sort itself out or maybe it was a cache issue. I hate to sound like a whiner but I am now having an issue uploading a CSV file. Even if I just save a Blank Record, put no records in it and try to upload it it gives an error. Any suggestions?

    1CS,

Not whining…I’m happy to help you use the plugin! Is there an error message you can show me? Do you have the columns you want to import checked in the “CSV” column on the manage database fields page?
