Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '.' line 12 on SSL site

Cannot obtain status, all I get is this error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’ in /home/jay/public_html/firebirdtransformations.com/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/wc-template-functions.php on line 12

I was trying to add code found in a resolved thread on Woocommerce’s support forum to remove product images and thumbnails-

.woocommerce-placeholder {
    display: none !important;
}

My host installed (we had a little bit of trouble but it finally worked) a new SSL security certificate yesterday, but now I can’t FTP to the Woo directory. In fact, I’m dead in the water and our new business went live (the payment portal, anyway) yesterday, but now there’s only this error.

You’re my only hope!
