Page Not Found

I’m running the latest version of URL-Shortify. It’s been working fine, but now all my short links are returning my theme’s Page Not Found page.
Could you give me a list of things I need to check that might help me diagnose the problem?
Thanks!

Hi,
Sorry for the inconvenience you had.
Is it happening with all links or newly generated short links?
We have tested it locally and it seems working.
I’m just starting to use Shortify, so I’ve only got three links; none are working, neither when I type the short link into my browser nor when I click the little arrow icon on the Links page of Shortify. Same symptom in both cases.
A list of what things to check, and in what order, would be very helpful. I’m sure I can track this down myself, but if you could share a bit of your expertise, I’m sure I can track it down more quickly.
Thanks!
Hi Charlie,
Got it.
Please check any
.jsonfile exist in
wp-content/uploads/kaizencoders_uploads/url-shortify/uploads/.If exist, please delete it and check once again.
There are chances that generated short links are not being stored into the .json file that causes this issue.
I’m having exactly the same issue as Charlie — Shortify links were working perfectly, and suddenly none of them work. I thought maybe it was related to the recent WordPress 5.9 upgrade, but I rolled back to my most recent backup and they’re still not working. Both new and existing links are broken — I have about 20 existing links, none of which work, and creating a new one results in the same 404 error. I also tried deleting the .json file as described above and that didn’t solve it either. Please advise. Thanks
Sorry for the inconvenience you had.
Please check my above reply and see if it solves the issue or not.

Please contact us at hello[at]kaizencoders[dot]com if the issue is still not resolved.
We will be happy to help you.
The json file seems to be OK. I deleted it and tried again, but I still get the 404 error page. I added a new “test” link and it appeared in the json file OK, but like all the other links it only gives me the 404 error.
If the json file appears to be functioning properly, what would be the next thing to check?
Hi @cdarling
We have checked it locally with a new installation of the plugin and it seems working.
Can you please check what’s your permalink settings look like?
You can check it from Settings > Permalinks
We use a Custom Structure of:
/index.php/%post_id%/%postname%/That’s the only setting on Settings > Permalinks
Hi @cdarling
It seems permalink is an issue.
Please check with
/%postname%/structure and see it’s working or not.I’m not exactly sure what you mean. Do you mean you want me to change our permalink Custom Structure from:
/index.php/%post_id%/%postname%/
to:
/%postname%/
and try URL-Shortify again?
Yes, that’s what I meant.
Sorry for the long delay, Mike! I had to get the site backed up; I also updated to WP 5.9.
I ran the test you described above, and it didn’t change the URL-Shortify symptom. (It did, however, break all the links from other web sites to our pages, of course.)
If the json file is OK and changing the permalink structure doesn’t fix the problem, what’s the next thing to check?
Hi,
Aha ok.
There are chances that other plugins conflict with URL Shortify. Can you please deactivate all other plugins and check once again.
If it doesn’t solve the issue, please email us at hello[at]kaizencoders[dot]com. We will take a look at it and see what’s causing this issue.
Hi have you guys found a fix for the problem?
Have over 100 links and pages are all not found.
Added wp staging and staging site and updated every plugin and wordpress 5.9.Updated permalinks too.
Cheers
