  • Hi @lafaverp

Due to the differences between WordPress.com and the community version of WordPress(.org) supported here, you should probably ask WordPress.com Support instead.

I’m using the WordPress package offered on Bluehost. Is this not the free WordPress? The article doesn’t differentiate between the two.

In any case, you have an individual installation based on that of wordpress.ORG.

But now I’m wondering exactly which bar you’re talking about? Can you please provide the screenshot as described here: https://wordpress.org/support/forum-user-guide/block-editor/#adding-screenshots

I have to say this is one of the many reasons I hate WordPress. Just to show a screen clip of the menu I have to try to figure out what imgur wants from their doc. Clear as mud, “The most straightforward way to upload images on Imgur is to click the “New post” button at the top of the page,” The image shown (which I can’t show because of the convoluted way WP does things) doesn’t exist, at least not on the Imgur website. So it’s probably another plugin. Sheesh!……….30min later. Ok all better now.

WordPress doesn’t really have anything to do with Imgur, we just recommend it for sharing screenshots here on the forums because it’s relatively straightforward.

If you have a preferred way of uploading publicly accessible images elsewhere, like Google Drive, DropBox, your own site, please do that instead to share a screenshot here.

You can’t upload images to the forums here because, as a volunteer developed and supported open source project backed solely by donations to a non-profit foundation, we don’t have the resources to moderate all of the content that the worst people on the internet would upload here.

Just saw your edit, that looks like the built-in WordPress Site Editor heavily modified with other plugins (at least with Spectra).

You’d get there from Appearance -> Editor in your Dashboard, but you need to be an admin, and you need to be using a block theme: https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/site-editor/

Thanks, found out Astra theme is disabling Editor choice. Have a support ticket open with Brainstormforce to see if anything can be done. Appreciate the reply.

The information seems contradictory. “you need to be using a block theme”

The following are the three website builders you can use with the Astra theme and the Starter Templates plugin.

    • Gutenberg. Also known as the Block Editor (or Default WordPress Editor), Gutenberg is a user-friendly builder that enables you to design your posts and pages more easily. …
    • Elementor. …
    • Beaver Builder.
