Other Plugin Shortcodes

Shortcodes I am entering seem to be getting stripped and are displaying as plain text. Have looked at the design.php file, as well as the wppsac-function one. I kind of see where I think the culprit code is. What can I do?

Also, just as an overall knowledge thing, why even strip_shortcodes in the first place?

Any help would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
