Hi @ds888
Our old PayPal Plus plugin and PayPal Payments have fundamental differences.
The old PayPal Plus plugin implemented PayPal’s “payment wall” with a regular “Place order” button that forwarded the buyer to the PayPal website.
PayPal Payments implements PayPal Checkout with the PayPal smart buttons. So the new integration replaces the regular “Place order” button with the PayPal buttons as the payment is processed in the PayPal popup window instead of forwarding the buyer to the PayPal website. So the buyer never leaves your shop website when performing the payment.
You can change certain pre-defined button attributes such as the color, layout, label, etc., but third-party plugins like Germanized have no control over the PayPal buttons.
Only advanced payment methods such as the Advanced Card Processing or Pay upon Invoice provide a regular “Place order” button which could be customized via third-party plugins.
Kind regards,
Niklas
