Check and see if the timezone setting are correct under:
Dashboard > Settings > General > Timezone
If the TimeZone setting is correct and the time is still off, it’s most likely due to the page being cached. If you are using a caching plugin, you’ll need to prevent the page with the countdown from being cached.
As you can imagine, if the countdown is based on a page created in the past… the time calculations will not reflect the present.

The time zone was OK and I could not find something to prevent the page explicitly with the countdown from being cached.
Moreover, in customizer the countdown is OK, but when I switch to live there is a 1-hour difference.
To solve this problem, I can switch to another city and its corresponding timezone, but this is not the ideal solution ofcourse.
to be clear, the countdown is the one under “Wij zijn al aan het aftellen!”, correct?

That could indeed be possible, but how can I fix it?
well, you can do a few tings.
1. Petition your government to abolish the outdated practice of daylight savings
2. Improve your understanding of how time works, and accept that the countdown timer is, in fact, correct as Sunday, 27 October 2019 only has 23 hours.
3. Set the timer to countdown to an hour later: (2019-25-12 01:00:00), but then reset it along with your kitchen clock on October 27.
