Hi Dan,
as I assume you have not heard from the developers of the plugin.
Would you still be willing to adopt it?
Then you can go down that route:
https://developer.wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-org/take-over-an-existing-plugin/#4-submit-your-code-for-review
I am not a very experienced PHP developer, but could try adopting it as well, should you not be able to do it.
Hi Sascha, I have not been able to get any response. I think I will pursue getting the plugin since it is actively useful when I do WP work – however the last time I spent significant effort on trying to look after an abandoned plugin and they decided to give it to people that were not going by the process.
If I can get ahold of it I would be happy to share the plugin with you.
I have more than enough PHP experience but the details of how plugins are administered in this ecosystem I have less experience with. This will entail writing the patch and sending it in, which I can probably do by Monday.
Ok, that sounds great. I happily be co-owner, if you want.
I have a couple of plugins myself here on the plugin repository, so I have some experience with the ecosystem.
Must actually update them for 5.6 tonight, as one of them seems to be broken on 5.6.
Hi Dan,
have you had any luck with getting the plugin?
Sascha
I tried with no luck. I am going to email the [email protected] and see if I get anywhere – i will mention that you are also interested.
I have recently discovered this plugin and I was trying to contact developer to adopt, but I have not received any reply back. Do you have any news? If you need help on supporting this, I’m in.
Hi There @hongpong,
Just Curious if you’ve had any luck here. I’ve patched this for my own use, but this is a really useful plugin that should be maintained by someone. Happy to help if that’s still a thing.
If there’s no luck getting a response form WP perhaps launching an update version as a new plugin? Let me know if I can help!
