NP:Image resize wrong

    I created 4 posts with featured images 1024×512.

    3 of the images resize for the slider keeping 2:1 aspect ratio.

    the other resizes to 1.5:1 and messes up display of the slider.

    What controls the resize and what can I do?

    I’ve tried deleting the image from media and deleting the post and starting again.

    Please delete link when finshed 🙂

    Hello @pageuser

    The image that was showing on slider was 625px x 420px size image so you can add the image larger than that so it will crop on proper size.

    And if you are looking for featured post image size then image size need to be larger than 305px X 210px so it will be cropped and showcase in featured post section.

    Thanks- I dont think I have control of those image sizes.
    All I have done is allocate a category (named ‘rotate’) to the slider.
    I’ve assigned 4 posts to that category.
    Each post has a featured image that is 1024×512.
    Any resize is handled by wordpress or the theme.
    As you can see 3 of the post images are reduced ok for display and keep the 2:1 aspect ratio.
    However one is reduced and resized differently to a 1.5:1 aspect ratio.
    What controls the resizing and what can I do to make that one the same?

    Hello @pageuser

    Image will be cropped if you upload new image only. That means images was not cropped so we recommend you to use the regenerate thumbnail plugin to re-crop the image according to the theme recommend size.

    How do I find the theme recommended size?

    However can you say what has been used for 3 images have been resized (rather than cropped) but not image 4? Thanks

    Regenerate Thumbnails by alexmills worked 🙂

    Great to hear that regenerate thumbnail works for you. Recommended size was mentioned in function file of the theme.
