can confirm.

common.php (line 3728 and 3066) causes the error in Multisite when allocating memory.

Please try disabling the EWWW debugging setting and then re-upgrading and let me know what happens.

When/if it breaks, you can just delete the plugin folder, and reinstall 2.5.4 from here: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/ewww-image-optimizer.2.5.4.zip
