I’m using OceanWP free version as my Theme with Gutenberg (no Elementor installed).
I’m having a few blocks and the side bar. Some text blocks and one HTML block (showing ad).
When I enable the content control switch for the text blocks, it stays on and I can disable the block where I want. But with the HTML block, enabling the switch will show on, but after a refresh it shows off and no matter what I’ve disabled, it’s not kept.
I hope this gives you more info.
Thank you, but nothing there helped me hide the HTML block.
While still trying to troubleshoot the issue myself, I’ve noticed an option to “convert to block”, once clicked my HTML converted to an Image. And using the content control on that – worked. So I still believe you have a bug with Custom HTML block.
Unfortunately there’s no option to convert it back to the HTML… but that’s another story.

Hi @wpkiller,
Thanks for the response.
Block Control should work for HTML blocks.
See our test here: https://share.zight.com/mXuN74EO
Could you send us a message via Get Support – Content Control Plugin? We might need to take a closer look.
We’ll wait for your email! 🙏
