    I can get authorised but it fails on the next step to add a subreddit and then Reddit blocks everything.
    Reddit authorization failed. Please try again.
    Please lather rinse or delete!
    Is this a tactic to get me to pay for the pro app? Why would I pay money if I can’t get the free one to work?

    Hi @mactwonet ,

    I took a look and it seems that there is a bug that causes this error when the account that is being activated is not a moderator of any subreddits. I’ll write in a fix today that should take care of the issue. Please keep a lookout for 1.4.1 release.

    This release will allow you to select your personal profile as the default reddit.

    If you want to solve the issue before the update, please try creating a subreddit under the reddit account you are authorizing with. Having at least one associated should let you through the welcome screen.

    Thank you for fixing this.
    I was quite frustrated because the error was triggered on the Reddit side and I went on a wild goose chase there to try to figure out what was going wrong and posted the issue here in desperation.

    FWIW, I hacked the plugin a bit to let it post from a custom post type. Seems to work OK until there is another update.

    Very nice! Glad it worked. If you explain the CPT feature request in a paragraph or two I’ll add it to the todo list either for pro of free.

    I want to also post to Reddit from another custom post type.
    Mine has links to other posts that I curate from RSS feeds.
    While my solution isn’t user perfect, I just modified publish.php to add the meta box and preview-endpoint.php and publish-endpoint.php to eliminate the warnings.

    You could also offer the ability to customise the template per CPT.

    While it was much more difficult to setup the this plugin for X, setting aside the temporary bug, Xposter does a good job with this.

    In the meantime we do have a way to overwrite the current template. This guide should work for Lite as well as Pro:
