No update reminder email

Hi.
I do not get the “Update available” email anymore.
It first worked with the last version, but since I updated to 3.3.8 I do not get any mail and I waited a few days to be sure.

My environment and settings:
WP-Con seems to work, I even installed a plugin to check it’s working (wp-cron status checker). I have htaccess basic auth on the site, but excepted the server IP that the wp-cron ping works.
I have a monitor with Uptime robot to accesss the site each 5 minutes to trigger the cron and Uptime Robot gives only status 200, so no issue there.
I have unchecked all under “Auto Updater” as I just want the reminder, so under email just “Update available” is checked. Under advanced I have the intervals on twice daily and the notification on hourly. If I save this dialog, under “Status” it shows then “Email Notifications” next the current time (-1 hour, seems a timezone thing).
I also use the “Post SMTP Mailer/Email Log”, but it is configured correctly and in the integrated email-logger I see no mail-send attempt since March 1.

Any suggestions?
