• There’s apparently no legacy support for Navis DocumentCloud shortcodes, even though Navis says there is. DocumentCloud is, of course, silent on the issue.

    Thanks so very, very much.

[Update: Monday, 24 August 2015 10:21PM CDT]: There appears to be a conflict with WP Rocket.

[Update: Tuesday, 25 August 2015 1:08AM CDT]: This is definitely a conflict with WP Rocket. I’ve opened a trouble ticket with them, and I’m adding the same here on the support forum.

[Update: Tuesday, 25 August 2015 6:54PM CDT]: I’ve changed my rating as this is clearly a WP Rocket problem (or a problem with my WP Rocket configuration which hasn’t been a problem previously). Deactivating WP Rocket causes DocumentCloud embeds to render as expected. Even more interestingly, leaving WP Rocket deactivated and turning on Wordfence’s Falcon Engine caching doesn’t interfere with DocumentCloud embeds. Go figure.

Hey Michael, I just now noticed this, as we aren’t automatically notified of reviews. Did you try to contact us about this? I can’t find any record of an email, tweet, or GitHub issue.

In any case, sorry you’re having trouble. Do let us know if WP Rocket reports that there’s something we can do differently that won’t break them.

    Hi Michael,

I’m the technical director for DocumentCloud. Our apologies about missing your request here. We normally take support requests through Uservoice and Github and completely missed that there was a space here for support as well (this is our first WordPress Plugin). We’ll start keeping tabs on comments here too.

We’re also very interested in what compatibility issues you’ve bumped into with WP Rocket.

Our goal with the DocumentCloud plugin is to be a drop-in replacement for Navis-DocumentCloud and to continue to add features to the plugin as DocumentCloud grows.

So sorry again that things broke initially when you switched over, and again our apologies for missing your request.

    Best,

    -Ted

    Hey there reefdog and knowtheory,

No worries. I rooted around and found the conflict — as I indicated above it’s a problem with my configuration of WP Rocket. Specifically, here’s the problem and the fix (I thought I had already added it here, but it somehow slipped through the cracks):

/viewer/viewer.js (just like that) must be added to WP Rocket’s JS files to exclude from minification field on its Advanced Settings page.

    Please, close this issue
