Worked exactly as intended with the added bonus of easier viewing of nested categories too. i.e., The radio button provides extra padding and much easier to select the right category.

My site smartcountries.com has category based next or previous links, and choosing more than one category screwed up this navigation. This plugin fixes that issue.
