Do nested folder work in the free version?
-
Hi @earl_d,
Good day!
Yes, it works. Please go ahead. πI am not able to get it working? Does it rely on previously set sub directories because each time I try it prompts to purchase Pro. Am I missing something?
Hello,
Can you send a screenshot or screencast showing this issue, please?
Regards
Here is screenshot of what pops up if I try to put folder inside another.

Hi @earl_d ,
There seems to be a confusion here.
You opened this thread against “Catfolders Document Library addon”, but you sent a screenshot regarding “Catfolders Core”.
Let me clarify that, you cannot create subfolders in the Catfolders Core Lite, unfortunately. But the Document Library addon Lite, can allow you to display subfolders in frontend.
Hope that clarifies.
Regards.
ok I thought they worked together. So let me get a clarification if I create a sub directory by means other than cat folders the Document Gallery will be able to read them and use nested folders?
Hi @earl_d ,
Sorry, but No, the addon works with the folders created by its core plugin only.
Hope that clarifies.

So the document galley is just a way to get users to spring for the pro version of the core. Your documentation should be clear about that making it clear that nested folders are NOT available without the Cat Folder Pro or not mention nested folders at all in the Document Gallery.
Hi @earl_d ,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! π We actually have a clear comparison of the free vs. Pro features here:
π https://wpmediafolders.com/docs/features/free-vs-pro/Itβs easy to miss, but that page explains which features are included in the free-version and which are part of Pro-version, including that nested folders are only available with Cat Folder-Pro.
The free Document Gallery works without nested folders, while Pro just adds extra flexibility and organization options. Hope that helps clear things up.
Regards.
