    Hi,

I really like this plugin but unfortunately I can’t see buyer name and address on my website (run on woocommerce). I wrote a message to PayPal and I was told that name + address of the buyer has been transfered to my woocommecrce but I still can’t see them.

I don’t have this problem when my customer use Debit/Credit card or Apple pay.

Can you please help me to resolve this issue?

    Hi,

Can you elaborate on what you mean regarding the buyer name and address? For example, are you saying it’s not auto-populating the address fields on your checkout page?

It’s rare for PayPal to enable the feature that exports the billing address info. How the plugin works is the shipping address will be used to populate the billing and shipping address info.

Apple Pay isn’t a good comparison because Apple provides the customer’s billing and shipping address info automatically. We’ve informed PayPal of this limitation but to date they haven’t done anything about it.

I can’t see my customer name and address in order details unless I eneter paypal and manually enter the order details (customer name + address). Is there anything that can be done to resove this issue? The plugin works very well but maually entering details is very annoing.

I don’t understand what you’re asking. Can you provide a screenshot showing what you’re talking about?

If address data is missing from your order details page, that’s not an issue with the PayPal plugin. WooCommerce validates address data before an order is created, so that means the address data existed at some point. The address data is being removed after the order is created and the payment processed.

Thi is a link to a picture. I use red color to show how my order (made using payment Plugin) looks like. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oeyXNgOGgOOQAWKFZHc6odV3nkeGb3sz/view?usp=sharing

The green color was used to show you how order made by another plugin looks like. I don’t think that this is woocomerce fault as:

    1. I have problem only with Payment Plugin
    2. I made an order on my website using Payment plugin method and order address and name was alwyas blank.

    Hi @luketapis

Here is a screenshot of an order placed using this plugin where all of the address info is populated

If this were a plugin issue it would be more widely reported and affect many merchants.

Per my previous reply, WooCommerce has validations in place so that the checkout process can’t continue unless the address fields are populated. That means that those values are getting removed from the order after the validations pass.

To confirm, I recommend you login to paypal.com and look at the payment in question. There you should see the billing and shipping address info in PayPal.

Please confirm what you see by logging into PayPal and looking at the payment page.

    Kind Regards

    Hi @luketapis

Yes, I can see all details in PayPal but the address fields are not populated in order details.

Because the address fields are populated in PayPal, that means at the time of payment, the order object has all of the address data. The PayPal plugin uses the billing address data directly from the order.

That proves that after the payment is processed, the address data is being removed from the WooCommerce order object. There isn’t any code in the PayPal plugin that would remove address data from the order.

    Kind Regards
