MySQL 8.4 and PHP 8.3 support

    Yes, the Akismet plugin is compatible with PHP 8.3 and MySQL 8.4.

    With php 8.3 or 8.4 enabled I get the following error message:

    Warning!

    There is a new version available, but it requires a newer version of PHP than the one you have. As a result it will not be installed.

    Let’s see if we can figure that out for you @stimpsonjcat.

    The minimum version of PHP we currently specify is 5.6.20 and the Akismet plugin should work on all available PHP versions above that. We do have it successfully running on test sites with PHP 8.3 and 8.4.

    Can you tell us your WordPress version, and what version of Akismet you currently have installed?
