Multiple Custom Statuses Cause Conflict

Hi,
I’m noticing that when we have more than one custom status enabled each email template is reverting to the same custom email message.
We can’t have the emails disabled as these are automated emails when we update order status, which we do in bulk.
Is there any fix for this problem?
