Hello @cronosalblog
Thanks for writing in!
Actually we have provided an option in our settings here to change the Block Editor Spacing as you want.
So if you set the value there in px then that amount of spacing will be applied in between blocks in the editor.
I hope it helps.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi @rajkiranb,
Thank you for the reply. I haven’t checked that feature yet, but what I’m referring is the missing spacing on paragraphs. Here is the screenshot: https://ibb.co/qDjvM9b
This is actually four separate paragraphs but due to the missing lines, they look like one.
Note that this only happens on the Gutenberg editor page, the live page doesn’t get affected.
I really wish could use the latest version of the plugin, but until the issue is fixed, I’m going to stay at 1.25.6.
I hope this insight helps your team.
Cheers.
This really annoyed me too, and it makes for a waste of time to fix that really shouldn’t be necessary.
@cronosalblog – The setting in the image that @rajkiranb linked to is where you can fix this. Add 20px, for example, in the “Block Editor Spacing” settings and it will add that amount of space between your paragraph blocks in the Gutenberg editor.
Feedback to the Spectra team – the block editor spacing should really not be defaulting to 0px. The default should be whatever value the theme uses.
Joe/Jane Average user shouldn’t have to wonder why on earth their editor is suddenly restyled and less user-friendly and have to
a) figure out it’s because of a plugin that’s been updated,
b) track down which plugin it is (and possibly wonder why they have this Spectra plugin they don’t recall installing), and
c) go hunting for settings to figure out how to make it look the way it did before.
@ashleyleia Totally agree. The update is a nightmare and there is no backward compatibility. Maybe time to move on to a different plugin if QA is so poor/not existent?
This is sooo annoying and a waste of time, dear BSF…
Hello @ashleyleia,
We’re sad that this update has caused you issues. Our team worked hard and tried its best to make it a smooth transition from prior versions to 2.0 and ran an extensive public beta testing program for several weeks. However, it seems we could not test all these possibilities. We’re so sorry for the trouble.
There is a new release of Spectra 2.0.6 that has fixed most issues that came up with the latest updates. Please update to Spectra version 2.0.6. After updating, please be sure to regenerate the assets. We do this automatically after the plugin is updated, but just to be sure, go to “Spectra > Settings > Asset Generation > Regenerate Assets” and press the button.
Also, empty cache and hard reload while on the editor screen. Here’s how: https://share.bsf.io/2NumNvZ2.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
Hello @ashleyleia,
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
Thank you!
Hi, @rajkiranb,
Thanks for the answer. I can see that there is a setting to restore the line space. But I don’t like the fact that I need to enter the value manually through trial and error.
I really wish this problem could be avoided in the first place.
The latest release (2.0.10) still hasn’t fixed the issue. I’m hoping Spectra could address the problem in the next update.
Anyway, I’m wishing you good luck with the rebranding.
Thank you.
