Message Successfully Sent Not Showing

I’m on the latest Contact Form 7 (5.3.2) and everything is working find save for the form submission ‘thank you’ message. I can fill in the form but I don’t see the specified, ‘Thank you for contacting us’ message I specify in the configuration.

One thing I don’t have in my form is the [response] Do I need to use that or will the form simply do it without the tag? https://contactform7.com/locating-response-message-box-anywhere/

Any ideas on how to fix this?
