• Presently, I am working on a website for our business and have been working with the Make Theme for about a week, and everything is still experimental. I am still very new to WordPress and though I learned HTML 16 years ago, things have changed a bit since then.

Anyhow, I have a single Menu with 4 Items for my Main Navigation, which is set only to display as the “Header Bar Navigation”. I have no other menus created, and no other menu locations set.

The problem is twofold: 1. I have a ghost menu, of sorts, appearing below the Header Bar showing all created Pages. I do not understand why, and obviously, I don’t want this. 2. The 4th Menu Option is supposed to have two sub-menus and they are not displaying.

I’ve checked the site by swapping to other themes, and this issue goes away when I do (Though in the other themes this Main Menu duplicates itself in the Header Bar and just below it, which I also do not want).

Is this a known issue? Am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated. (The Site is not live, so not visible, so I am inserting two screenshots).

  • Maybe this will help.

Log in and go to appearances, customizer.
Go to menu’s, then menu locations.
Her you can choose which menu you want displayed where, either in the header bar (header bar navigation) or below it (primary navigation).

    Hope this helps.

I have a similar problem I have a menu in the Header bar and I’ve tried to add a submenu item. But it doesn’t display. If I swap themes it does. Is there an issue with submenus in the Header Bar with the Make theme?
