Manually Updating Plugin | WordPress.org

My hosted server maxs out at 10 seconds of execution time so I need to update my plugins manually. Any idea how to do this? I can’t find documentation anywhere, it all assumes you can do it thru the Dashboard.

Just use FTP. See Filezilla and FTP Clients « WordPress Codex.

10 seconds is not much of time to update in wordpress yiu need check with host see if they can increase the time.

If they do not If I was you I will look for alternative host as you will be updating plugins and wordpress and updating manually
is not right.

@songdogtech. Are there instructions to manually update with FTP? I think it’s a little more complex than just replacing the old files through FTP correct?

You can just replace the files with FTP. Nothing more than that.
