Hey @clerkcpc,
No worries, we can help you with this.
The error you are seeing is because the MailPoet folder still exists on your server, even though you can’t see the plugin in the installed plugins page.
If you are not comfortable performing any of the steps below on your own, your hosting provider’s support can help you delete the MailPoet folder.
Are you able to access your hosting account dashboard?
If so, I will need you to look for the File Manager option in your hosting account dashboard — the location of the File Manager might vary from one hosting provider to another, search on Google how to find it depending on your provider. After locating File Manager, head into it and go to this folder public_html -> wp-content -> plugins. Inside the plugins folder, look for a folder with the name “mailpoet”, right-click the folder and delete it. That’s all.
Now head back to your admin Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add Plugin. Search for “MailPoet”, install, and activate. You should have the plugin in your installed plugins page.
If any of the points above seem confusing, feel free to ask in your next response and I would be glad to clarify.
Hope this helps.

r1k0. Reason: Additional info
Hi @r1k0
And thank you very much for your clear instructions.
I have done it and – to my astonishment – it worked! Not only that, but my subscribers are not lost and email notifications settings are still in place.
Brilliant!
Thanks a bunch 🙂
