    How do I implement a lookup (not filter) functionality? I have a simple table with 2 columns, name and assignment. I have a page where the user types in a name and the assignment is displayed.

    Hello.

    With Simple Tables, it is not possible to do any search/lookup functionality or filtering.

    This table type has some unique features, but also has certain limitations when compared to other table types.

    You can see the full list of limitations for Simple Tables here.

    You can make a development suggestion, and our devs will do their best to try and make a solution in the future.

    Please feel free to search on our suggestions page

     to see if someone may be already suggested this feature. If you can’t see it, feel free to add your suggestion there,  and as more people vote, the feature will move higher on the priority list.

    You can certainly follow our changeLog page if you’d like ( it is also available in the plugin dashboard), where we state any changes/new features/bug fixes during updates;

    and our newsletter, so you’re informed about new features, bug fixes, freebies, etc.

    If you are interested in some advanced features, such as advanced column filters or foreign key relations,
    you can ask our Premium Support on this main support platform, and they will advise if there is any workaround for your use-case,

    but if you can elaborate in a bit more details to them what you meant by a lookup, but not a filter,

    and they will advise if something like that is possible with premium version of our plugin.

    Kind regards.
