Looks great until you try to restore a backup

    Impossible to test in a DR environment. Basically you cannot restore on a staging site at all. So there’s no way of knowing if it actually works. You’ll only know once you need to restore a backup and it either works or doesn’t.

    Zero faith in this plugin.

    Hi regalguy,

    UpdraftPlus backups are regular zip files, non-proprietary. So you can unzip the zip files and check that the contents match the files on your site, either automatically or manually.

    Since the backups are standard formats, they can be restored in lots of ways, and used by lots of different tools. Restoring through UD’s interface onto the live site is not compulsory.
