    Location addresses display like this:

    10 High Street
    London

    SE1 2RP
    United Kingdom

This is visually ugly. Please display like this instead:

    10 High Street
    London
    SE1 2RP
    United Kingdom

  • CHECK YOUR SETTING!

You are calling placeholders for fields you did not fill out, so yes, that leaves blanks.

    BAD design. No excuses.

If something needs lots of tweaking then it’s just badly designed. Sorry to be so harsh but that’s the truth. Defaulting to this behaviour is a bug.

I’m not calling any placeholders. The plugin is auto-generating pages.

If a placeholder contains nothing, it shouldn’t create a newline. Come on. Think! Design properly!

No, that is just how you wish to see it. I personally completely disagree. The Devs leave a lot open, so users can create a layout they want with as little restrictions as possible, unlike a lot of other plugins.

Setting defaults (anywhere and everywhere) is always a “guess”. It is simply impossible to create a default for the whole world. Take addresses for example, different countries write their address differently. In The Netherlands the postcode is placed in before the city on the same line. In other countries it comes below the city.

So defaults are there for the general public. If you would like a different layout, just change them in your settings. πŸ™‚

Fair enough. Thanks for your feedback. That is much better communication. Hugely appreciated.

Sorry just extremely stressed at the moment. Been extremely unwell… coding to take my mind off that isn’t “wise” but I don’t know what else to do.

Apologies for being short with you.

Please, please do check your settings….
Events -> Settings -> Formatting -> Single Events Page.
There you will fine that the placeholder is empty, but that there is also a line break after it. Pure HTML πŸ™‚ If you cleanup that section you will get a beautiful layout.

You were not only short, you were actually quite rude. I might perhaps understand some frustration, but the way you chose to word that was not okay. Instead of asking a normal question (which gets you a normal and friendly answer) you were only complaining. That never works πŸ™‚

Also, I do also see a lot of questions about the maps feature. Personally, I don’t get it… I have never had any problems with my maps in EM. I enter my API key and voilΓ . On 4 blogs.
The only “issue” for me currently is the change by Google in their layout. I hate the big controls. πŸ™‚

I do think that somewhere something causes problems for other users and perhaps the devs should look into that. I also understand that it is very hard to solve something that not everyone experiences.

The trouble with Google (in general) is that they keep changing things in their API’s all the time. Sometimes little changes, sometimes big ones. And even a little change can lead to problems for some, depending on how the API is used.

So, an alternative for Maps could be something to look into. πŸ˜‰
