I updated the plugin to the latest version, and now the pages for the comic won’t load. I receive my site’s custom message for when there’s no content to display. The rest of the site works fine.

We fixed the issues last week, with the update to 5.0.4. But now with 5.0.5 the comics won’t load. I suggest replacing the 5.0.5 version with 5.0.4 to see if it works. I looked for one to download and try myself, but couldn’t find it.

I created an admin user account for you again. Can you please check it out?

Apologies for the trouble @derekpadula. You can get 5.0.4 from here (you may have to do this part; WordPress wouldn’t overwrite the existing Webcomic plugin with it’s standard plugin uploader) – https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/webcomic.5.0.4.zip

I’m not entirely sure Webcomic 5.0.5 is the issue, though; the changes between 5.0.4 and 5.0.5 are incredibly minor, and not the sort that would cause URL’s to break. Page Not Found errors are almost always a permalink issue, and that seems to be the problem here, as well; the m permalink for the collection doesn’t seem to be working properly (I tried changing it to manga briefly and the pages loaded fine).

I can’t say why that’s the case is yet, unfortunately; if it’s been m all this time and worked, Webcomic 5.0.5 wouldn’t have changed anything to break that. Did you have any other plugins update recently, or add any new plugins? I installed the Rewrite Rules plugin on your site just to see if I could figure out what’s going on, but – according to it, at least – the m permalink should be matching properly.

I had a longer moment to look at this and it should be resolved now, @derekpadula. It looks like the issue was with the Webcomic post, character, and storyline permalink settings: they were all m, which was confusing WordPress. I changed your Character and Storyline permalink to m-character and m-storyline, respectively; since you don’t use them anyways the actual setting doesn’t matter much (as long as it’s unique), and the comic post URL’s should be working again.

    Thanks, it’s working now!

I updated Yoast SEO at the same time I updated webcomic. Both were minor 0.0.1 updates, so I didn’t think it would cause an issue. I tried disabling Yoast to see if it would resolve the comics not appearing, but it did not. So I was led to the conclusion that it was webcomic. At least you were able to find a creative solution.

    Thank you!
