I have three different sites all linked together via jetpack. I have no problem on 2 of the sites but on the third I cannot publicize due to a database connection error. I have tried reconnecting, debugging etc. but nothing is working. The site is fine and active when I view from my browser or phone and jetpack works well on the other sites. What is the reason for the issue on this site only? It can’t be my hosting provider as it’s the same across all three sites.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @veggtravel,

I checked your site, and while it is publicly accessible (which is good news), we cannot access your site’s XML-RPC file:

    https://www.myeverydaytreats.co.uk/xmlrpc.php

This file is used by Jetpack and other plugins and apps to connect to your site. It must return the following message:
XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

You can see a working example here:

    http://jetpack.me/xmlrpc.php

Since your site returns a broken/offline page, I would recommend that you check the following:

    1) Can you see the /xmlrpc.php file at the root of your WordPress installation when accessing your site via FTP?

    2) Do you use any security plugins that may block access to this file? If so, could you try to disable them?

    3) Does your hosting provider block access to this file? If you don’t find any plugin that may block access to the file on your site, I would recommend that you get in touch with your host.

    4) Can you check with your host that there are no URL protocol issues in your domain, in regards to this specific xmlrpc.php file?

Let me know what you find out, and we’ll take it from there if necessary 🙂
