    Hi,

When your forms stop working after a theme update and you encounter JavaScript errors, this is often due to conflicts or missing scripts caused by the theme or plugin interactions.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and possibly fix the issue:

Step 1: Temporarily deactivate other plugins except Formidable Forms to rule out plugin conflicts.

Step 2: Switch to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty) temporarily to see if the issue persists. If the forms work with the default theme, then the problem is with your theme.

Step 3: Clear all caches (browser, site cache, CDN) and test to see if that resolves your issue.

Step 4: With all plugins deactivated and a default WordPress theme active, delete the Formidable Forms plugin, and then install a fresh copy.

If after these steps the issue continues, please provide specific error messages or links so we can assist further.

    Best,
    Nathanael.

    Dear Nathanael,

I’ve done steps 1-3 without success.
I can’t do step 4, I have multiple registration forms running right now! I’m really in trouble right now.

The error message is: This page isn’t loading JavaScript properly, and the form will not be able to submit. Please check out our troubleshooting guide for details on resolving this issue.

[Error] Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 (Internal Server Error) (frm_fonts.css, line 0)

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi @isa666

Looking at that error message, I suspect there is a missing file that may have been blocked by a security plugin during installation. We occasionally see WordFence causing issues like this.

Unfortunately, reinstallation under default conditions as I mentioned in step 4 above is likely the only way to fix this.

You should be able to complete this within 10 minutes, for minimal disruption to your site.

    Best,
    Nathanael.

Thanks Nathanael. Will my entries and forms not be deleted when I delete the Plugin?

I did this. I still have the same errors

    Hi @isa666

Your forms and data are safely stored in the WordPress database, and will reappear after re-installation.

Our team may need to take a closer look at your setup if reinstallation didn’t work.
