Hi, the site is offline at present because we have an issue with credit card payments.
This started last year with a problem “This value must be greater than or equal to 1”. That was resolved by using version 1.14.12.1 of forminator. I have been unable to update this because every time I try, a crucial dropdown completely stops working.

Unfortunately it seems that version 1.14.12.1 is not properly handling 2FA: it seems to work up to £999 but throws an error in any greater sum – the form is returned correctly but due to the failure of the 2FA, the payment fails with stripe.

Can you help me untangle this? Somehow we need to get the thing working. My research seems to indicate some issue with a popup plugin (the form we use is on a popup). That can be solved by not using the popup if necessary but even without the popup plugin enabled the same issues with payments arise: the latest version fails completely and the earlier one fails above £999.

So love this plugin, I hope we can make it work!

    Thanks

    Jonathan

    Hi @jon25b

I hope you’re well today and thank you for reporting this!

I checked our internal bug reporting system and I don’t see any reports on this. I also couldn’t replicate it on my own setup with Stripe in “test” mode so it’s possible that our developers may not be aware of the issue yet.

I’ have already asked our Forminator Team to check it. I’ll need their feedback on the issue so I’d appreciate some patience on this (and I apologize for any trouble it may be causing) and we’ll update you here with more information soon.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hi @jon25b

I apologize for the delay on my end.

I’ve discussed that with our Forminator Team but it seems our developers are not aware of any bug or “known glitch” on that either. There is indeed a 2FA that might “kick in” in some cases but if it fails, we would need some more information. Two most important would be:

    1. The exact content of the error that you are getting (when making payment)

    2. if you check your Stripe dashboard – is there any log entry/notification/error whatsoever related to that particular failed payments? If yes, what does it exactly say?

    Let us know, please.

Note: if any of these messages/errors contain any “sensitive data” (like CC numbers or names and similar) do strip/mask such data before posting, please.

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hello @jon25b ,

We haven’t heard from you for a while now, so it looks like you don’t need our assistance anymore.

Feel free to re-open this ticket if needed.

I responded to your email on 2 September but have had no response. This issue is absolutely unsolved. Unfortunately I have not been available to chase it up until now.

There appear to be two key issues:
    1. We cannot update the plugin otherwise the form fails to work at all
    2. Payment fails if the amount is over £999.

Disabling all other plugins doesnot remedy the issues. The first issue may be partially leading to the second but they both need sorting out or we will have to abandon this plugin. This would be a great shame because it is such a great one when it works!

    Thanks

    Jonathan

    Hi @jon25b

I made a full review in our email box taking into account:
    – your email
    – your domain name
    – this thread URL
    – manual review of all emails from Sep2 2022
and I’m afraid we do not have such a conversation.

The only one we have is that one from 2021:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/this-value-must-be-greater-than-or-equal-to-1-2/ in our system.

Could you email us again with all data you shared in that email?
Please use this form https://wpmudev.com/contact/#i-have-a-different-question and make sure that subject is “I have a different question” and:

so that we will follow up there to check this issue for you.

    Hi Kris

Thanks for your response and sorry for the extremely slow response, this got pushed back again owing to an avalanche of other issues. One of those was the need to switch the site hosting and I suspect some of the issues we were having arose from the previous host – everything works way better now with this and other sites and I wish we had switched long ago.

This morning I was able to look again at the form issue and I seem to have narrowed it down. Using the latest plugin variant it seems to work fine except when the popup in which the form goes is activated. We use popup maker 1.16.9. When that is activated the forminator dropdown box stops working.

Is there any way you can help resolve that conflict? If not then if we have to choose we will probably drop the popup. We have a project coming, though, which needs a site which can use popups and forms and the problem here is that even if the form is not in a popup, activating the popup plugin stops forminator working. So it would be good to have both available here first!

    With many thanks

    Jonathan

    Hi again @jon25b

Please open a fresh topic in this case here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/forminator/#new-topic-0
as the issue seems to be different now and we would like to keep order for us and especially for other .org members who will look for the same issue or solution.

    Kind Regards,
    Kris
