Install WordPress on Sub Folder

Hi, I recently purchased a wordpress hosting plan from Online and through cPanel (Note: I was not using cPanel hosting before, and used to manually FTP upload the site). I installed wordpress on my domain through cPanel. But, it got installed on my main domain, rather than sub folder. How should I install wordpress on sub folder of my domain? Should I first create a sub-folder through FTP and then install wordpress, or while installing wordpress, I should put http://www.example.com/subfolder/ into the URL field? Which one works the best solution?
