Instagram Feed Not Working
-
I am seeing this error on the page where the Instagram feed should be showing:
- Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘then’)
- Cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘then’)
This seems like a relatively new error as I think the feed has been working pretty well up until recently. I have upgraded the plugin to 4.3.3, which states there was an Instagram API fix.
I have also deleted and reconnected both the account and feed. Still seeing the error.
Any thoughts?

Hi,
I’m still seeing the issue. I’ve done the following:
- Delete & re-add the Instagram account
- Delete and recreate a new feed
- Clear all caches (both website & browser)

Hello @emilybop,
Could you please try deactivating the Autoptimize plugin? It appears that this caching plugin is causing a conflict with Social Feed Gallery.
https://snipboard.io/anuUge.jpg
pro-tip; you can disable Autoptimize on a per-request basis by adding
?ao_noptimize=1to the URL.if the problem is not there at that point, some autoptimize (re-)configuration might be needed to fix this. there are troubleshooting tips and info on how to exclude in the AO FAQ.
hope this helps debugging,
frank (ao dev)Hi,
I temporarily disabled Autoptimize, but I’m still getting the same error. Any thoughts?
@emilybop

Hi,
The Instagram account is @keystonepacific – https://www.instagram.com/keystonepacific
This is set up as a personal account.
I’ve created a Loom video at your request: https://www.loom.com/share/cab474e7aee845a38b0296600f98c622?sid=462b3dc5-a253-4f26-8da0-eb0ce03d1c40
The first half of the video is me showing the current settings, then it shows me deleting the connection and re-adding everything. It still shows an error. Please let me know how to proceed.
Hello mate,We’ve visited your website and noticed that the server is blocking queries to the API. Please take a look at our screenshot: Screenshot
As you can see, the error “{“code”:”rest_no_route”,”message”:”No route was found matching the URL and request method.”,”data”:{“status”:404}}” appears, indicating that there may be a security rule on the server blocking the queries. Could you please reach out to your hosting provider to inquire about any security measures, such as modsecurity, that might be causing these queries to be blocked on your website?
Best regards, QuadLayers Support Team.Hi Emily, after further review, we believe the problem may not be related to the server blocking queries to the API, as we previously mentioned.
To delve deeper into this and find a solution, it would be really helpful if you could provide us with your Instagram token. With this token, we can run some tests in our local environment to pinpoint the root cause of the problem and provide you with a suitable solution.
Best regards, QuadLayers Suppor Team.
Hi, I get the same error. How can I solve it?
Error: rest_not_logged_in: You are not currently logged in. Error: rest_not_logged_in: You are not currently logged in.Hi,
got probably the same issue. Until recently, the Insta feed worked flawlessly. Suddenly, the 400-error in the frontend. I deleted the existing account and tried to connect at new. This is what I get:
“Entwickler-Rolle nicht ausreichend: Entwickler-Rolle nicht ausreichend”
Meanwhile, I deactivated the plugin and installed another one. But I’d love to keep the quadlayers …
