Import stuck and seems to create duplicate files with ._
-
Working with a hosting company that has pretty tight security (FDIC compliance level). Tried to import the .xml file of the client’s previous blog posts into their new wordpress site’s install.
Now, I am unable to access the wordpress dashboard on the new site. I keep getting a 504 Gateway Timeout error, after I enter my UN and PW and try to log in. Other site admins are able to log in and access the dashboard, but not me. Even my SFTP credentials are no longer working.
Also, the server admin is telling me that they are seeing almost every file in the core WP install has a duplicate file but with a prefix of “._” in front of the file name. Never had that happen before anywhere.
I wasn’t the person who exported the blog from the original site. So, hopefully they understood the instructions to ONLY export the blog posts and NOT the entire site…
I spot checked the Featured Images on the old site’s posts and they were uncompressed stock images :/ So, my guess is that the import file was too big for the new site’s server limits (had to beg and plead for enough just to upload banner images). But, could it be “stuck” on the import process for weeks?
