On my client’s blog the images get distorted in Jetpack Newsletters sent to subscribers, especially on mobile. Also on computer when I reduce the size of the email screen, the image gets squeezed and distorted. It seems that the images don’t scale responsively. On the blog page the images behave correctly.
We have tried different image settings and sizes but nothing seems to work. Those are images that are placed in between the post using single image block.
I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with Jetpack Newsletters.
Please note that email clients support a subset of HTML and CSS, which sometimes explains the differences between how content is rendered in emails versus on web pages. This can often lead to unexpected behavior, like the distortion you’re seeing.
To better understand and diagnose the problem, could you please share the URL of a post that isn’t rendering correctly in the newsletter? This will help us evaluate what’s going on and provide a more accurate solution.
Thanks for sharing the URL of the website. Does the issue happen in the newsletter for all posts on the website? If you have noticed the issue happening for a few posts please share links to these posts.
Which email clients are you viewing the newsletter email on? Did you check the email in a browser or on an app on a mobile device? Please share the details of the browser and email service, as well as the desktop or mobile app you used to view the newsletter emails.
Also feel free to share screenshots of the issue or any other details that may help diagnose the problem.
We have escalated your case to our dedicated team, and we have emailed you. Please check your inbox and if you haven’t received or if you don’t see any email communication coming from us, do let us know. Thanks!
Quick update on this: we have successfully replicated the issue and have created a GitHub issue to address it. You can view the details and track our progress at the following link:
@alinclamba I am having the same problem, though it also seems to be happening in the Gmail app. Even in Gmail in a browser, if the screen width gets small enough, the images get distorted.
