HTTP error when loading photos-started with WP 4.6

I was loading photos into the media library with no problem this afternoon, and then began to get HTTP error notices. No number to ID the error. It happened just before the server went down for a while, but I just spent two hours on the phone with Bluehost, and at this point it doesn’t appear to be the server. He checked the error log and it pointed to Yoast SEO, but deactivating that and then all plugins didn’t help. He told me there was a lot of trouble with this with 4.5, but I’ve had no problem until today, and updated a couple of days ago.
