How to show recent posts with a php include

Hello,

How would I go about showing the recent posts from a few of my blogs that are hosted on the same site via php include on my home page? Rather than having a bunch of rss feeds on the home page (which, I’m not sure if thats healthy or easily doable), I would like to show them all with php includes.
