    Hi,

I am part of a group of racehorse owners. I am trying to create a website to track our horse racing results. I know the application works well for team sports, but for individual sports it requires a bit more configuration. I am applying the concept that horses are the players, drivers are the technical staff, and possibly later, trainers would be the teams (for stats grouping results).

I am having difficulty structuring the system because, in a race program, there are multiple races. I would like to be able to create a single event per race program and include only the few races in which our horses participate. I would also like to enter results for specific horses in a race rather than for all horses that took part in that race. I believe I have managed to set up this part, but I have not yet found a way to create parent/child events.

I had considered using tournament mode as a workaround, but I do not have the Pro version and I am not sure it would meet my needs given the team-versus-team structure. Before investing time and money, I therefore wanted to know whether it is possible to achieve the result I am looking for.

    Thanks

    Hi @darthsimon ,

What you’re describing requires architecture that SportsPress doesn’t natively support, and it’s not a configuration issue you can simply solve with the free or pro version.

What you could explore as a workaround: create a custom post type for “Race Programs” and use custom post meta to link individual SportsPress matches (races) together, then display them on a custom template. This would require custom development beyond SportsPress’ built-in functionality, and honestly, it might be more practical to look at a sports management plugin specifically designed for individual sports or to hire a developer to build a custom solution tailored to horse racing (check jobs.wordpress.net or upwork.com if you want to go that route).

    Thanks,
    Savvas
