My 2nd thing I’d like to be able to schedule is the static homepage. Under Settings > Reading, a static page can be selected. I don’t see a way to schedule that and I’m guessing it wasn’t something thought of.

I have a lot of custom page types called releases. Every week a new page is selected to be the new homepage. It would be great to schedule that out in advance. I’m guessing it’s substantially more involved to make that static page switch via the dropdown choices, but it would be awesome to see if it can be added to your plugin.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thank you for jumping on adding this ability.

Not sure I’m figuring out how to make this happen. My site is set to static, but I choose the static page that is to be the homepage for the week. I do this from a drop-down that is on the Settings > Reading page. I don’t see a method to do this on that page.

I went to my custom pages of releases. I can see that they can be scheduled with the plugin, but that is no different from the WordPress scheduler I’m using now. Maybe I’m missing the method of how it was implemented to be able to choose a forth coming page to be selected in the Settings > Reading page.

@jwhitesides But that static homepage is in the pages list, right? You can just find it there and schedule a content update for it?

    Yes, it is.

However, I believe I didn’t express what I was hoping to do correctly. My desire is to create scheduled changes to the Settings > Reading static page choice. Meaning, that I’d like to schedule what page is getting listed or set as the home page. That’s why I figured it might be beyond the scope of the plugin. I’m wanting to change which page is showing as the home page, via a scheduled change.

Oh, I see. That has very little to do with what this plugin is about: it’s all about scheduling updates to EXISTING pages, not swapping out what’s set as the static homepage. But you could just schedule an update to the homepage that contains exactly what the “new page” would contain to achieve what you’re looking for.
