Hello. I am reporting a critical issue with your Advanced Woo Search plugin that is causing our production e-commerce website to crash with fatal PHP errors.

Our site has been experiencing multiple daily crashes since we updated to version 3.45. We’ve had to deactivate the plugin temporarily to keep our store running, but we really value your plugin’s functionality and would love to get this resolved quickly as we otherwise love your plugin.

Here are the details of our setup:

    • WordPress 6.8.3
    • WooCommerce 10.2.2
    • Advanced Woo Search 3.45
    • PHP 8.3.24
    • Apache server on Debian
    • 884 products in our catalog

The specific error we’re seeing is:
“Uncaught Error: Call to a member function get_reindex_version() on null in /wp-content/plugins/advanced-woo-search/includes/class-aws-versions.php:44”

This error happens multiple times per day and occurs during:

    • Normal website browsing
    • WordPress admin operations
    • WP-CLI commands
    • Search functionality usage

The error appears to be in your AWS_Versions class where it’s trying to call get_reindex_version() on a null object. We suspect this might be related to PHP 8.3.24 compatibility or an initialization timing issue.

    We’ve already tried:

    • Updating WordPress and WooCommerce to latest versions
    • Testing with only your plugin active
    • Clearing all caches
    • Verifying we have adequate server resources (2GB PHP memory)

This is quite urgent for us as it’s affecting our production e-commerce site and customer experience. Could you please:

    1. Let us know if this is a known issue with PHP 8.3.24?
    2. Provide a fix or workaround if available?
    3. Give us an estimated timeline for resolution?

I can provide additional log files or server access if needed to help diagnose this issue. We really appreciate your plugin and hope we can get this resolved soon.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

    Best regards,

    Adam

P.S. Let me know if you need additional information.

    Hi Adam,

Thanks a lot for the detailed report – and I’m really sorry this is impacting your production site.

I already found a solution for this issue. New plugin version will have a full fix for this. After it will be released you will be able to safely update into it.
