Hi @mmrmom
That sounds quite odd. Off the top of my head, I cannot think of a reason why this could be happening. The block seems to be working properly in my tests as well.
I have a couple of questions for you in the meantime:
- Have you tried using this block successfully before? Or is it the first time you’re trying it? If you’ve used it before, has it worked on your site?
- When you add the file block, is the name of the file being displayed? Or, is nothing getting added at all? Here’s a screenshot to explain what I’m referring to:

- Which is the version of WordPress you are using? May I suggest trying this out with the latest version of WordPress (if you are on an older version and feel comfortable updating)
- When you try to replicate the issue the next time, could you right click on the area where you tried adding the block, choose the option “Inspect Element” and share a screenshot of what you see? Here’s an example from my end for reference:

You can use a tool like https://snipboard.io or https://imgur.com for sharing screenshots
- While you are in that page above, can you open the Console tab of your browser and check for any error messages?
I look forward to hearing back from you!

Thank you for your reply. I investigated a little more. I am using WordPress 6.1.1 and have used this block previously. I retried it with the Twenty twenty-three theme with success. Sorry, I thought I tried it yesterday with a different result. Maybe I had too much going on.
What I did notice is that the Download text is there, but the text color is white, so I can still click on it. After I click on it, the text color changes and is visible, but still no button. I will take this back to the theme author, but I’m wondering which direction I should go for a theme.
Thanks again.
