There’s a known issue with Gravity Forms and looking into the issue.
It is no longer possible with Gravity Forms and doesn’t appear there’s a possible solution.
Hi Larry,
Many thanks for following up – I really appreciate it!
Could you explain a bit more about why it is no longer possible to track UTMs using Gravity Forms? I would love to understand the issue so I can ask the Gravity Forms authors about it.
Many thanks,
Paul
I really don’t know. I didn’t develop the Javascript for the code, but it appears that Javascript inserts on the page dynamically into the <form> area as hidden fields. Normally this would be fine, but I’m not sure how Gravity Forms accepts dynamic fields and appears it can no longer do it via dynamically generated Javascript.
I’m sure part of the reason is a way to combat bots from attacking their form signups.
I do know others have developed plugins that can do with this Gravity Forms. I don’t have the bandwidth to write code for Gravity Forms as I do my tracking outside of ActiveCampaign and use Woopra for my UTM tracking now.
I tested and it works. I just added the code to my functions.php file to populate the three main utm fields. Then create hidden fields to be populated automatically.
Thanks for the insight. I may decide to add this code to the plugin.
Great work Pablo!
Larry, I don’t want to mess with functions.php so it would be great if you could add it to the plugin. I have a client desperate for this!
Many thanks,
Paul
