google search console coverage issue with wp-statistics plugin

I have exactly the same problem.

In Google Search Console, I have lots of ‘Server error (5xx)’ for urls like https://mysite/wp-json/wp-statistics/v2/hit?_=1659101503….

It’s seem to be a touble with WordPress REST API but I don’t understand if I have to disable it or not ?

I fixed the issue myself by adding the following to the robots.txt site file

User-Agent: * 
Disallow: /wp-json/

PS the issue on the Google Search console is still there, I think Google takes a while before updating the console and removing these records, no new record has been added though.

PS I notice I had to submit my update robots.txt file through the Google Search Console, for all the property belonging to that domain (e.g. http://mydomain.it, https://mydomain.it, http://www.mydomain.it, etc…).
