I typically go with the “upload an html file”… and place it in the root of your website directories.
Google will then “find” the file.
Thanks Josh. Where is my root directory?
You will need either FTP or your hosts CPanel to access your file directories.
If you don’t know how… call your host and they can help.
Thanks, I wil look on my Bluehost cpanel.
Right. You can either use the “file browser” there… or you can create an FTP account to use with a client program on your computer.
The FTP is much more advanced… so, if you are only doing this… the “file browser” is probably your best option.
EDIT: Just make sure you are in the root of your WP installation… and upload the new html file there.
Found a YouTube that showed me how to go to (in wp-admin), appearance/Editor/Header and then put the Google code at the end of Header code just before the end </head>.
Worked well. Easy to now that i know.
Thanks anyway Josh
