Genesis – Dynamik Website Builder – Beaver Builder

    I did read some very positive reviews on the above combination. Genesis is great for its hooks (actions/filters) to be used in a framwork environment. Together with Dynamik you can find a nice balance in coding or setting values. Now Beaver Builder comes as a front-end tool in front of everything else to make it easy to interactively build a page. Nice!!

    My concern is the amount and the quality of code generated to make the page. Dynamik can generate a Genesis Child Theme (which are compact in the amount of code). Installing Beaver Builder ‘just’ takes about 12MB as a plugin……

    Can anyone give me any insights on the influence of this plugin in the generated code? And what happens if you deactivate the plugin? Is everything gone or will it listen/work together with genesis/dynamik?

    Regarding the plugin size, I checked and it’s 4.9MB. Can you tell me where you’re seeing 12MB?

    Regarding deactivation, when Beaver Builder is deactivated, all of your content will be available in the default WordPress editor. You can reactivate it to get the layout structure back.

    Yes, the ZIP version is indded 4.9 MB, but if you unzip it, it wil become ‘much more’ than that. In my case (even more than) 12MB. I checked it on my desktop and on the VPS where I want to install it. Although I am very impressed about the functionallity, it is way oversized in my opinion.

    Ah, that makes sense. To be honest, the actual size of the plugin shouldn’t affect anything. A quick check shows that 2.3MB is coming from translation files, 1.5MB is coming from third party API scripts (only loaded as needed), and 4.4MB is coming from the ACE editor files (only the ones for HTML are loaded).

    Is the 12MB size causing issue for you somehow?
