Currently, we do not have the option to display the gallery titles with NextGEN Gallery. I do agree it would be super helpful, though. I will add your feature request to our list of requests for it.

thank you for your answer. In former versions of NegtGen I added in
wp-content\plugins\nextgen-gallery\products\photocrati_nextgen\modules\ngglegacy\view\gallery.php
<h2><?php echo $gallery->title; ?></h2>
to show the gallery’s title.
I’m looking for the right php-file to do the same.

Currently, the code that you’ve mentioned wouldn’t work after NextGEN Gallery major code refactoring starting 3.50 version. The code has been changed and even the process to add the code is different and few more steps to follows which might be confusing as normal.
I apologize that we can’t provide what you’re looking for right now however it has been added to our list of feature request and will be implement shortly.
As a workaround, you can display the gallery title separately using a heading block from the editor.
