Forcing 16:9 aspect ratio for video shortcodes
-
Hello TutorLMS support,
We are the developers of the FV Player plugin (many users are still using the older version).
One of our users reported that FV Player does not show properly in the lessons. We had a look and found that tutorLMS forces 16:9 ratio for all video shortcodes, it’s hardcoded:
- PHP: https://github.com/themeum/tutor/blob/8d80c4df21732e409ab4cef6bd5db80dd0b3dc12/templates/single/video/shortcode.php#L22-L24
- CSS: https://github.com/themeum/tutor/blob/8d80c4df21732e409ab4cef6bd5db80dd0b3dc12/v2-library/_src/scss/core/_utility.scss#L209-L241
Could you please add a setting to disable the tutor-ratio and tutor-ratio-16×9 classes?
Or could these be removed completely? It seems strange that you are forcing the video to show in a 16:9 container and not just let it show at desired height.
In FV Player the issue occurs if the video player shows playlist items. These show as boxes below the actual player and do not fit into a 16:9 container. An example of a FV Player playlist can be found on https://foliovision.com/player/demos/playlist-styles#horizontal although it’s not using tutorLMS.
Please let us know.
Thanks,
Martin
